I wasn't going to hunt thursday evening after work but my boyfriend talked me into it. I was in my blind and it started to snow. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It was getting close to dark and I saw 5 does walk down a hill into the field on the other side of the creek. three of them stayed together and stopped to eat on the other side of some trees, blocking my chance to shoot. So I started watching the other two. I chose the larger of the two and shot. they all ran into the woods. Farron heard the shot and came over to the blind to see what I had got. We waiting a little while then went looking for blood. Found none!!! But we did find the doe! I was starting to think I had missed. I have never tried a 150 yard shot before. I always wait until they get closer. I didn't have that option this time. anyway, she was a nice young doe. And I was happy to finally get one this year!
Now that modern gun season is over, I am waiting for late Muzzleloader season to come in so I can get that big buck!
