well on the 8th nov it was the start of 2nd bull elk season here in oregon. the unit that we hunted was a spike only tag. it not the best tag but atlest we get to hunt elk. we walked in about a mile and seen about 100 elk in a herd. it was still dark and some idot started flock shooting the herd. 2 cows and a calf got shot. i wonder were are the hunters at with etics anymore. they sure were not hunting in eastern oregon. we finally seen a spike to shoot at but right behind it was a cow that had been shot in the leg . it was broke bad. i had , had it and picked up my stuff and left the elk to the idot hunters. we walk over to another cayon and sat down to think about what i ahd just seen. so my oldest son went to look for more elk and i stayed . about 15 mins he came back and had seen 2 elk. so i went to look at them with him. both of them were spikes . we watch them for about 30 mins. then i decided to take one. we hit him and down he went. then he rolled down deeper in the hole and finally he hit a log and stayed put. it was nice that we got a elk , BUT IM SICK OF THE HUNTERS WITH NO ETHICS !!! IF YOU HUNT AND CANT MAKE GOOD CHOICES STAY HOME AND STAY OUT OF MY WOODS!!!!!!!!! These are the people that will hurt our sport, and it is time for us to tell them we dont need them. Or they need to learn to become a ethical hunter if they want to join us. You all should fill the way i do, if you dont, you should. Im pissed at the stupid hunters that call themselves hunters. They are far from that. They are just shooters and shoot at anything. We dont need them. Know that im done venting I hope someone out there that didnt have some ethics will learn them and pass it on to others. Thanks for reading my vent.
season is good this year so far
Well the season is a little over a week old here in Oregon. It has been a good one so far. The first saturday we saw 20 bucks and 3 were shooters. On labor day I called in a spike bull and my son tag it at 50 yards. It was a sweet shot right in the tank. He went 50 to 60 yards and went down. The nice thing he never got out of the meadow, so NO tracking needed. We hit him at 7:00 am and finally got home at 5:45 pm. It was a long day and a very sore muscle day.

Sounds like it's been a fun and exciting season already for you guys up in Oregon. I bet your son was excited beyond belief when he tagged that spike bull and it finally went down. I know I would be ecstatic. A congratulations is in order for him and since I have yet to kill a spike bull I'm envious as well =] Justin |

THIS IS TRUE, YOU ARE GOING TO MEET SOME REAL WEIRD PEOPLE AFIELD, BUT YOU ALSO CAN MEET SOME GREAT PEOPLE AS WELL. ONLY THING I FIND THAT HELPS IS REMEMBER IT`S NOT YOU. AND YOU WILL NOT AND CAN NOT HUNT LIKE THAT,,
