with the recent thunder storms in the mountains above me, fishing is a little tough. The run off is making the water a little mucky and the fish are not biting as they were last week. The lower kern running thru the canyon towards bakersfield is a river of mud. The rain did help with the fire in the mountains above our home. That's a good thing.The fire firefighters who come down to rest next to the lake here say the deer are low. I've seen a few bucks still in velvet. I have also seen a few who didn't make it accross the the road near kernville. I was fishing last week just above Kernville and saw 3 bucks cross the river. What a pretty site while fishing.
