It has indeed been a very busy season, we have had many hunters from all over join us on deer hunts. All but one was successful and he is coming back after Thanksgiving with family members. This has turned out to be a tiring, but very rewarding undertaking as a guide. I have enjoyed meeting many different people and sharing our great Bluegrass State with them. Hope everyone has a great and safe Thanksgiving Holiday.
Be careful while travelling and while hunting. Remember to take a kid hunting or fishing.
Tomorrow morning at 1/2 hour before sunrise, the modern firearm season opens here in Ky. Everyone be safe out there and remember to wear the proper amount of orange. Good luck.
Well, the modern firearms season is upon us. It starts this Saturday at sun up. We have some folks coming in to hunt with us for the entire first week, good friends from Florida. They come up every year for opening week, always a good time.
The deer are in full rut right now and the bucks are going crazy. It will be a great opening weekend.
I have seen the usual knuckleheads that will be in the woods this weekend, you know the ones. They are at wal-mart buying their guns this week and getting their ammo. It doesn't matter that they have never hunted and many of them have never shot a gun. So they will never sight it in, see a buck and start shooting. I hope no one gets hurt.
I wish they would at least learn to shoot a gun first. and spend some time at a range practicing so that they can quickly and humanely harvest their quarry.
I wish everyone a great season and by all means be safe out there.
Went out this weekend and filmed a tv show with Tim Farmer, host of Ky Afield television. We had a good time and he is a super nice guy. Did we do any good? Watch Ky. Afield in an upcoming episode and find out.
We are finally getting some rain here in the bluegrass state. It is much needed and very welcome.
I want to wish everyone a productive deer season and by all means, be safe out there. There has already been a fatal accident this season. Let's keep it at that OK.
