    Elk Hunt

Friday, July 3, 2009, 12:17 PM MST [General]

Hi everyone.  New at this, so I hope its not too bad.  I just wanted to say that I drew a controlled hunt for Bull Elk.  I'm excited.  It will be the first time I will be hunting without my husband.  I wish he could be here for it.  Now Im going to have to practice with the .325.  Im not looking forward to that.  Its a big rifle for such a little person.  I just want to make sure I will get a good shot.  Well thats all for now.  Have a good day everyone.

    HI JACKIE
I THINK YOUR BE JUST FINE WITH THAT 325. THAT IS A GOOD ROUND. JUST REMEMBER ONE THING WHEN YOUR SHOOTING A RIFLE AND THAT IS TO ALWAYS SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER!!!! JUST KEEP SLOWLY PUTTING PRESSURE WITH YOUR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER UNTIL THE GUN GOES OFF AND YOUR HAVE YOUR ELK!!!! THANKS FOR THE FRIEND REQUEST. ANY INFO I CAN GIVE YOU ON HUNTING LET ME KNOW.

    Hi Jackie,
I am guessing you already had your elk hunt. How did it go? Did you get to shoot at one? That gun is not too big for a girl. I like to target shoot w/ my husband's .338/.370. I just don't like to pack it around the woods. I hunt w/ a .270. So far it has done plenty well. The best tip I can give is bring shooting sticks because in a hunt, you can not always be sure you are going to find a good rest!
    Happy Hunting!
