Hey Ya'll,
Well with Missouri's firearms season just a little more than a week away things are starting to heat up here. Missouri has become one of the leading states in the nation for trophy whitetail and I'm proud to say that it is because of the efforts of the outdoors-man in this state and their willingness to work with local conservation and land owners to preserve the wildlife we have and see those numbers grow. The quality of the deer harvested is due to the efforts to increase the nutritional values of our food sources and the stricter limitations on bucks harvested and the thinning of the doe population by changing harvest regulations for them as well. I'm proud to be from the sleeping giant as I have heard this great state called by many popular TV hunters and avid outdoors-man. I believe that with continued cooperation with the states gov. and landowners we will be able to make Missouri one of the top states to hunt big game. When opening morning comes and the sun breaks that horizon and we all start looking for the stories we are going to tell for the next twelve months we should all keep in mind number one the one who gave it all to us to partake of in the first place and also the men and women who have spent all year trying to keep the improvements to our public and private lands coming. We all have our own ideas about what proper game management is but with a little give and understanding we can all work together to make this and seasons to come better and better. I'm looking forward to stepping into the outdoors the fourteenth and seeing first the beauty of this great state and also some freezer meat for the year to come. I'm excited to the point I can hardly wait but gratification is coming, I really want to take the time to thank each and every one of you who take the time to read my post and let me know what you think. I really am doing this from the bottom of my heart and I hope to help all my brothers and sisters in hunt to be more successfull and better stewards of all the lord has given us.
Thanks again, God Bless, and Best of Hunting!
Jackie Wells
