Well went to the woods today for the first time with my new rifle (Remington model 700 VTR .308). Shot two nice hogs with it and I will have to say it packed a punch that I did not expect. Shot the first big boar at 100 yards broadside and rolled him twice. Didn't have a scale but it took 3 of us to load him on the trailer. Shot the second at 220 yards on the move which wasn't the best shot so he ran about 50 yards but the dog trailed him and I finished him off. Now I know my gun is ready for the deer woods on Saturday.
