Hey y'all, I don't have time right now but I'll be back to tell of my last day hunt for the elusive buck!!  Heart breaking but  great!

He got to be old for a reason

I have this buck that I have been trying to get for 4 years now. he always comes out after dark. Only once have I seen him show up at daylight. Naturally I wasn't in the stand that morning. I've moved locations, went from stand to ground, dropped scents, grunted, rattled, blew to no avail. He actually walked right behind me when I was on the ground and circled around to his staging area. Of course I couldn't turn around 'cause he would have seen me. I mean he was right behind me!! The staging area is a thicket on the edge of the food plot.  My other option is undoable. To get in the right location behind his staging area would put me on someone else's property. Even though it is landlocked and undeveloped and no one is ever on it, I just can't do that. So I have to figure something else out.  This deer is so smart he has survived rogue, trespassing dog hunters for 5 years. I'll figure out a way to beat him in the staging area. I already have 2 setups on either side of the staging area that are not working.  It just came to me!!!! I have just realized another option. It's hairy due to the doe movement but it just might work. I'll let y'all know later if it worked.  The smart ones are the most frustrating but they make the best memories.

I have a suggestion to your problem. Have you ever tought about usinging a doe/buck decoy? I yet to try it but we kinda have the same sortta problem. the back of our property is almost a mile long and private and the deer love the thick cover there for bedding also. Good luck
