Good morning to all! Well Im getting excited about going duck hunting again this weekend. Hopefully, I will get a few. I will take pictures this go round and post them Saturday or Sunday. We had a warm front followed by a cold front the past few days so the ducks should be coming in strong. Im typically not a cold weather person, Im petite so I tend to stay cold. On my first hunt, my waders started to slow leak immediately so my husband is going to try and patch those. We'll see after the temperature continues to drop as the month goes on if I am truly dedicated to duck hunting. Im pretty positive I will be though. Take care!
Duck Huntng in Arkansas
I live in Little Rock, Arkansas and I am 28 years old. My husband took me on my first duck hunt yesterday December 6th,2008. I absolutely loved it, more so than he thought I would. I didnt kill a duck, missed a few times, but that was fine. I was focusing on learning the sport more so than getting a duck. We left the house at 3:30 to travel to Bayou Meto for the hunt. He took us to a great spot via boat and we got the decoys all set up including a robo-duck. At sunrise we could hear the first wave of shots so we knew the ducks were there. I was shaking I was so excited. I listened to him and followed all directions. We had two large groups of ducks sit down beside us but I couldnt get a good shot of them because of the tree I was behind. It sounded like a war zone in the bayou because of all the hunters that were there. My husband and his cousin Todd ended up killing 5. I am ready to go back very soon. I want to feel the rush of killing a duck and watching him/her drop. I will update this blog after my next hunt.
