The season is underway and there have many hunters out trying to fool the Ol' turkey bird in gun range.  I'm sure there are some great stories already and pictures.  I am updating our site with daily updates, pictures and in some cases, video.  If you have a hunting adventure you would like to share, we want to hear about it.  Thanks!  Take care, hunt safe and bring a friend!

The scouting has been great and we are hearing lots of birds.  It looks like we are going to have some perfect weather to start our season and all the rains of late has created a pool of opportunity for mosquitto breading.  Make sure you spray down and get your thermacells loaded!

We have been fortunate to help many people shoot their 1st turkey.  Above are some highlights of our hunts from our 2006 and 2007 season.  I got up early yesterday to try and film some birds scratching our chufa and heard several birds gobble for 30 minutes. Georgia Spring turkey season will be opening soon and we are in the process of getting ready.

I like to go through my vest and get my calls straight and clean out anything I don't plan on using.  My owl call quit working last season, so I need to find a new one.  We start talking to people we hunt with and making schedules. We like to prescout new properties to get an idea where they roost and like to eat.  It's good to make connections and find new places to hunt.

Check the gun you will shoot.  Put in the right choke and make necessary repairs.  And for me, I make sure I have my camcorder ready with fresh batteries and plenty of film.  Do some homework and pre-season planning can make a big difference in how your season goes. Good luck!
