Just an update. We took the Mule Buck into the taxidermist today. He thought it was a really unique specimen as has everyone else who had a chance to view it. We expect to get it back in April of 2010.
Just some unique points we noticed on this buck. It had a tail that was very short, light brown, and white with no black. It had no testicles that we could find. Its ears were large for the head size. The body was very big for a mule deer. The right orbit seemed to be large and a little off-set from the left. We had a friend whol knew how to age the deer by teeth and she said it could be from 5-8 years old. They appeared worn and curved like an 8 yr old, but the gap between the teeth appeared to be from a 5 yr old. She said it appeared that the dentition was unusual. My girlfriend and business partner was on the hunt with me. Katie helped me glass the buck and drag it out, which was a task. She still has her A tag so we will see how the season ends up.
That's about it. If anyone has any questions or has taken a buck like this, we would love to see pictures and have any information about them.
Cheers,
Chris
