    Amazing Day

Saturday, February 23, 2008, 08:34 PM EST [General]

My Brother-in-law started to shoot bows again last year when I bought my Switchback XT. He purchased an older Hoyt off of ebay. While it was much newer technology than his old bow it just seemed to have one problem after another. Every time he took it out of the bow case it seemed to shoot different.

Today we went to the pro shop to shoot league. He had decided to look for a new bow. He tried the new Hoyt and the DXT side by side. He really liked how the Hoyt felt when drawing it, but said the DXT felt better at full draw and upon release and that in time he would get used to the feel of the draw cycle of the solocam.

My Brother-in-law bought the DXT and the owner set it up with a new sight and rest. He shot it about a dozen times and on the last shot he got his first robin hood.

What makes this more interesting is that earlier in the day my uncle was shooting his Mathews Legacy and shot his first robin hood. Last week I shot my first robin hood with my Switchback XT.

After three robin hoods out of three different Mathews bows in two weeks my Brother-in-law said he was convinced that what we had said about Mathews bows was true. Not to mention he has a great souvenir of his first Mathews bow purchase even better than a hat! Thumb Up

Get used to it Bro!!! I have half a dozen arrows in the shop a month getting fixed because of Robin hoods, cut fletchings, chipped nocks. I shoot a Drenalin. Welcome to the club. My son and I are freaks about bow hunting, well not really freaks but what an awesome sport. You know you're doing it right when you get to train a youngster about bow hunting. When he shot his wild boar in March. He said, "Daddy, I don't even remember the shot because it just happened!" I said, thats why we practice, he's only nine.
    Welcome to Mathews Country!
P.S. I joined your Bow Hunters group. I hope we can have some fun with it.
