I'm a long time gun hunter. but this year I will be hunting bow only.
went out and bought me a hoyt cybertec xt2000 bow this thing is awsome.
the reason behind my choice is for the last 2 years I have filled my tags in 2 to 3 weeks. and for the paople on here that don't know here in GA we are aloud 10 doe and 2 bucks. This year I did it QDM style only taking old does and 4yr or older bucks. it has got to easy for me with a gun and want more of a challenge.
so this year it will be with bow only! I have been shooting a bow for two weeks now and at first I was like what did I get my self in to but now after shooting every day atleast 30 shots a day from the ground and from my tree stand I think this is going to be my funest year yet. To be able to get with in 30yrds of a deer, bear, and hog is great.
So if ya'll have any tips please let me know! my grouping at 30yrds is 1/2" with 5 arrows. not where I want to be but I'm getting there. by Sept. I should be with in a 1/4". and that will do in my book. again feel free to post your thoughts or tips
she sat by her self with me about 150yrds away so I could still see her I was watching her with my spoting scope when I seen her raise her rifle so I looked out in front of her and seen
a really nice doe. I stayed on the doe and she made a great hart shot. the doe walked about 10 yrds and droped. my wife was in her stand doing the jig. all I could do is smile.
she took her time waited for a clear shot and nailed her mark. that 30-06 was right on the money. here are some pics.
It was a long fight ! but I'm doing good now. still going after that bear in north ga. but I'm going to try with a M/L this year. Since the last time I was on here I was on the TV show pinks allout in gainesville FL. I lost but it was fun. it was the first time me and my stepdad had gone racing together in 19 years. I hope sometime this year I get to hunt with my real dad. but I don't see that happening he lives in MD. and I've invited him down here for the last 6 years, but he always says he can't because he would miss some of his time at his hunting camp, but I'll keep asking in hopes one year he will say yes. I've only hunted with him once before I was 10yrs old now I'm 34. and would love to show him that his son is a very good hunter and his grandsons hunt too. sorry for getting so mushy !! but thought I would share a little with ya'll
my son shot his first deer last week it was a doe but boy was he happy it made me feel so good he did every thing right free stand shot and all he's 15 yrs. old it made me feel so proud to bring him because he never listens too me but this time he did.i already set up another hunt for both my sons just wanted to brag about my boy ya'll have a great day!!!!!
