Addressing the problem to handle predator issues, shrinking of habitat, and harsh winters, seems to be an issue itself. Our Deer herds are dwindling and if we do nothing, it will be too late. Addressing the harsh winter by feeding our deer creates a problem of not being able afford to put enough feed out in order to do good. Addressing the issue of predator hunting goes to lack of interest in hunting coyotes without getting the activist involved. We were able to snare coyotes but now it is illegal and the deer being killed by coyotes is unmentionable. It being an area where timber is a big industry, clear cutting is imposible to address. I have hunted in different states and I have seen where deer management has worked by using different methods, I have a major problem here and that I am not born and raised from here so what I have to say has no meaning. Small town politics at it's best. Feedback will be gratly appreicated
Proud to Be an American
Today is a day to be proud! Some memories you will never forget. I remember the day a school shut down and kids were bused to segergate the school. No matter who you voted for, for us to emerge from slavery and judgemental of people because of skin tone, it is a day to be proud.
Save The Whitetail Deer
We have another meeting coming up on Wed. We have had more interest in coyote hunting. We will post how our meeting goes but if any new feedback on how to address our Deer Yards this winter will be greatly appreciated. So far with our cold snaps we haven't had too much of winter kill because snow fall hasn't been to a point of Deer not able to feed.
Moose Lottery
Moose Lottery applications are only going to be done on line. They are no longer going to be sending out applications by mail to cut back cost. We conduct Moose Hunts in Zone 3. Check out www.maine.gov/ifw/index.shtml . You can go to my web site and click on the links page, www.auntiescabin.com if you have trouble getting to the Maine state web site.
Save The Whitetail Deer
Saving our Deer herds has to be addressed. We have started a new group of Sportsman that have concerns of our dindling Deer population. Right now it is a privite non-profit group that though membership fees, we are buying feed for our Deer to help prevent winter kill and also buy bait to set out for to dindle some of our coyotes . One coyote kills 5 Deer. We have as an organization has set up coyote baits and have drawn an interest in coyote hunting.
By request, our organization is " Aroostook County Conservation Association ", privite donations can be sent to ACCA P.O. Box 36 Stockholm, ME 04783 Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
Send me an e-mail if you sent a donation. Thanks
